Proverbs 16 was founded in 2018 by Rick and Kandis Turner out of a servant heart to serve others in order to fulfill His calling to go and make disciples in all nations. It is their hearts desire that no matter where God places them, they will use their abilities, experiences, and gifts which the Lord has blessed them with for the furtherance of His Kingdom.
The initial focus was ministering in the United States with encouragement and speaking/preaching opportunities. Then the Lord opened doors for the Turners to work outside the US in Central America. During their time in Latin America, their ministry focus was to encourage and help the nationals (pastors) develop self-sustaining ministries, thereby providing them with greater opportunities to share the Gospel, disciple converts, and grow their churches more effectively. It was during this time that they realized that God was opening new doors and expanding their ministry.
One new door that the Lord has opened is with multiple opportunities in the medical missions’ field. There are several remote clinics/hospitals that need assistance with technology that have reached out to the Turners inquiring about the possibility of implementing an “Electronic Medical Records System” (EMR System). A EMR System has the ability to integrate the entire medical facility and thus greatly improve the healthcare they are able to provide. It is truly amazing to see how God works as this was a specialized technology field that Rick worked in for the past 10 years prior to full time ministry.
The second door that the Lord opened was with the expansion of their self-sustaining ministries and the opportunity to develop a “Sustainability Training Class” based on Biblical principles that can be offered not only in Latin America but also in other parts of the world.
While this is the current ministry focus of Proverbs 16, we are always seeking His direction and watching for the opportunities He brings before us. This is “His” ministry, and our responsibility is to be flexible and available for His use as His vessels wherever He places us.
